Insurance
We accept most traditional insurance plans. Please contact your insurer to verify your plan will cover a visit at our office. Qualifications for insurance coverage may differ due to the uniqueness of each procedure. We are happy to file insurance for your reimbursement as long as you are free to choose your own dermatologist. Note that you are responsible for any charges your insurance doesn't cover up to the full amount if they reject the claim due to missing referrals, out of network charges, etc. If your plan requires a referral, it is your responsibility to obtain the referral from your primary care doctor before scheduling an appointment with us. Insurers frequently reject claims without referrals.
Many new plans are closed networks (WakeMed, Duke, UNC) that don't allow private practices like ours to participate. We have requested several times, but it would also help if you would request we be added to your plan as well! We are happy to see you as a self pay patient with discounts similar to commercial insurance if you are in this situation. This may be cheaper than paying high co-pays with high deductibles.
